A panel of 15 Under 10's made the trip to Na Piarsaigh last Sunday (13th of September) to participate in the Tommy Burtchaell Tournamnent.
Seeded in Group 1 Moycarkey got the better of Kilnadeema-Leitrim of Galway and Kilmaley of Clare and drew with Sixmilebridge of Clare to finish the group on top tied with Six Mile Bridge (we were placed second on score difference). This set up a semi final with the winners of group 2, Clonmel Óg of Tipperary. The Clonmel team started the brighter and at half time we were 3-0 to 1-2 down. The Moycarkey boys upped their performance in the second half, managing to score eight points in a frantic twelve minutes and holding Clonmel to no score in the second half, to set up an A Cup final with Sixmilebridge.
The final was a rematch of the earlier drawn game but this time the result went the way of Sixmilebridge who did very well to hold us scoreless in the first half, when the scores did come for us in the second half the opposition replied with scores of their own. All the Moycarkey players can be very proud of their efforts in difficult conditions and the support of the travelling supporters was greatly appreciated.
