Liam Britton RIP

posted 25 Sep 2016, 13:46 by Michelle Donnelly
It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Liam Britton. Liam was an esteemed member of Moycarkey-Borris Camogie and Ladies Football Club during the mid-70’s and 80’s. A former Chairman of the Club, Liam was also a selector for many teams throughout those years. He was a selector for the 1980 Ladies Football team who won the All Ireland 9-a-side tournament in Dublin. Moycarkey-Borris were the Tipperary representatives and they defeated Cavan in the Final to win the Poitín Still Trophy.

The following year Liam Britton was also a selector for the Moycarkey-Borris Junior team who defeated Cappawhite by thirteen points in the County Junior Camogie Final.

Liam Britton took great pride in supporting the club and its players at club and County level. He travelled far and wide supporting the club and always had a seat free if anyone wanted a lift.

The Club organised a guard of honour for Liam as he entered Moycarkey Church for the final time. Liam will be missed greatly by the club and his friends. Rest in peace.
