Moycarkey-Borris GAA Club Notes - February 11th 2013

ANNUAL DINNER DANCE AND MEDAL PRESENTATION NIGHT: The Club held a medal presentation night for Hurling, Camogie, Football and Ladies Football in the Anner Hotel on Saturday 9th of February. Music on the night was provided by the Doran Family, we would like to thank all those that attended on the night and in particular we would like to thank Joe Hannigan who presented the medals, and also would like to thank the officers of the mid board that were in attendance on the night. 

UNDER 21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP: We are out in the U21 championship this weekend please see mid fixture for date and time. 

JUVENILE COMMITTEE MEETING: Our next meeting will take place on the 19th of February at 8pm in the club rooms, all are welcome to attend. 

MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION: Club membership and registration for 2013 is now open and can be paid to John Kelly, Mary Shelly or Rita Clohessy. Membership must be paid as soon as possible. Non player membership of 40 euro available to supporter, this membership includes text messaging for fixtures and general club information, please contact club officers if you are interested in supporters membership.

SCÓR NA BPÁISTI: Moycarkey competed in three of the nine competitions in Mid Final of Scór na bPáisti in Littleton last Saturday. While each group performed well we were unlucky not to progress to the County stages. 

CHILD WELFARE AND PROTECTION: Moycarkey Borris GAA Club have organised a Child Welfare & Protection in sport basic awareness training course to be held in the Clubrooms on Wednesday February 20th at 7.30pm. It is recommended that all coaches, parents and administrators who are involved with coaching children or clubs with juvenile membership attend this course. The course covers the need for coaches to know not only the best practice for Child Protection regarding child safety and individual policy, but also how to protect themselves and the support networks that are available regarding the suspicion of abuse. MOUTH GUARDS: Mouth guards have now become compulsory for all juvenile football players. Players must wear a mouth guard for all football training sessions and matches.

CLUB GEAR: Club body warmers and track suit pants are currently in stock and available to buy from Catherine Gleeson.
