Harry Ryan u16 Memorial Hurling Tournament: Saturday last our club hosted the 1st tournament in honour of Harry. It was a very successful day, with all six teams contesting, which ended up with the final between Na Piarsaigh, Limerick & Moycarkey Borris. After a very entertaining game of hurling it finished with Na Piarsaigh emerging winners by 2 pts. Congratulations to them, they are a very strong team & were worthy winners. Paddy Verdon, an old friend of Harrys was a very proud man leaving the pitch. Many, many thanks to the following who made the day possible, the ryan family for the lovely cup & trophy for player of the tournament, which was won by our own captain Rory O Regan for his outstanding performances, all the teams for travelling, our own u16 selectors, the men that prepared the fields, all the ladies that provided the catering, Pat Houlihan for the PA system,Gerard Neville for piping out the two teams for the final, Tom mc Grath, Willie Clohessy & Eamon Clohessy for refereeing, the juvenile club members who done the scoreboard & finally all club members who helped out in any way. Defnitely many reasons for making it an annual event.
