Moycarkey-Borris GAA Club Notes - July 23rd 2012

Senior hurling: On Saturday evening last we played Upperchurch Drombane in the quarter final of the O Riain cup, where after a closely fought battle and extra time we were victorious and now go onto the semi final.

Minor Hurling: Last Thursday night we played Loughmore Castleiney in the next round of championship where we also came out on the winning side. Well done to all involved.

Harry Ryan u16 hurling tournament: Saturday last saw the 2nd annual Harry Ryan Tournament, where like Harry himself the sun shone bright for the day to help make it all the more enjoyable. The six teams took to battle @ 11.30am and brought it to the same final as last year where home team Moycarkey Borris played Na Piarsaigh,Limerick. A thoroughly exciting final watched by a large crowd saw Moycarkey Borris emerge as winners. As fine a display of hurling as u will see from any two teams. Harrys cup was presented to capt Liam Cashin by Willie Ryan & Player of the tournament was present to the well deserving Niall Heffernan by Colm Ryan. Many many thanks to all helped on the day for this prestigious event.

All Ireland Semi Final Tickets: All ticket orders to be with Rita Clohessy or John Hackett by Friday 3rd August.

Fixtures: Intermediate Football this friday 27th v JK Brackens in Templemore @ 7.30pm. Junior A hurling sunday 29th v JK Brackens in Littleton @ 12pm. Minor A Hurling v Holycross Ballycahill Wednesday August 1st in Littleton @ 7.30pm. Junior A football v Moyne Templetuohy Aug 4th or 6th in Littleton, tbc. Minor A football semi final v JK Brackens aug 9th in Holycross @ 7pm.

Club Meeting: Thursday 26th is next club meeting @ 8.30pm. All are welcome.
