Moycarkey Borris Camogie and Ladies Football Club Notes - April 21st 2015

Moycarkey Borris Club 5 Year Plan Launch

On Friday last Moycarkey Borris GAA, Camogie and Ladies Football clubs launched their 5 year plan in the Moycarkey Community Sports Complex. There was a huge attendance from members of all clubs from the very young through to the senior members of the clubs. Guest speaker on the night was Liam Sheedy, 2010 All Ireland winning Tipperary Hurling Manager who spoke about the importance of the “club as one” and coaching in a positive way to encourage all players. Also, in attendance on the night was architect, Sean Ryan (Ryan Architectural Services) who presented the future plans for the club. Johnny Corcoran, Chairman of the Finance Committee presented the “Pledge a Grand campaign” as one of the main fundraisers for development. There will be an open day in the clubhouse on Saturday, April 25th for anyone who is interested in subscribing or getting information on it. Michelle Donnelly, PRO for the Camogie and Ladies Football club spoke about the club and thanked the GAA Club for its continuing support, wishing the plan the very best. Chairman, Gus Hackett thanked deceased members from recent times such as Harry Ryan, Conor Kennedy and Rita Clohessy for their excellent work in the club and hoped that the club could now be brought to the next level. Chairman of the 5 year plan, Laurenz Egan thanked everyone who had brought the plan to this stage and hoped that the full plan would be implemented within the 5 years. He thanked all who attended on the night and hoped that they would support the club going forward. The County Board were represented by Chairman Michael Bourke while members of the Mid Board and some public representatives were also present. Thanks to Mary Shelly and the catering committee who provided refreshments for all on the night and Ed Donnelly, who was Master of Ceremonies.

Adult Ladies Football

In the Tipperary Ladies Football Senior/Intermediate League Moycarkey Borris defeated Boherlahan Dualla. Moycarkey Borris were rewarded for their excellent play with a victory on a score line of Moycarkey Borris 4-10 Boherlahan Dualla 4-8. Under 16 Camogie

On Monday evening last Moycarkey Borris Under 16 team hosted Holycross in the final round of their Championship. Holycross were the stronger on the night defeating Moycarkey Borris. The Moycarkey-Borris team team lined out as follows - Megan Woodlock, Maria Lanigan, Claire Ryan, Saoirse O'Meara, Niamh Woodlock, Jessica Hayes, Roisin Donnelly, Rachael Dowling, Zoe O'Meara, Emma Dowling, Amy Cummins, Nicole Gleeson.

Under 14 Camogie

The Moycarkey-Borris Under 14 Camogie team continued their Tipperary Camogie Championship with a home game against Knockavilla on Friday last. Moycarkey Borris tried hard but Knockavilla were the stronger team that evening and they took the victory home. Moycarkey-Borris team: Emma Shelly, Michaela McKelvey, Roisin Donnelly, Aoife Walsh, Amy McGovern, Zoe O’Meara, Queva O’Meara, Aoife Ryan, Siobhan Carroll, Tasha Tully, Kate Sheridan, Emma Dowling. Subs: Zoe McKenna, Lauryn O’Sullivan, Leah Walsh and Clodagh Fallon.

Under 12 Camogie

On Saturday last Moycarkey’s Under 12 Camogie team were invited to a blitz hosted by Gortnahoe Glengoole. There was four other clubs in attendance and Moycarkey played each club recording victories in all games. Moycarkey-Borris team: Maria Kennedy, Joan O’Keeffe, Enya Maher, Eve Dardis, Eva Morrissey, Chloe Cummins, Queva O’Meara, Ciara Coffey, Sophie Long, Kate Fitzgibbon, Laura Costigan, Emma O’Sullivan, Grainne Stapleton, Rebecca Hogan and Amy Callanan.

Training

Training will continue for all teams with texts going to parents to notify them of the relevant times.

Tipperary Under 16 Ladies Football Team

Congratulations to Rachael Dowling and the Tipperary Ladies Football Under 16 team on their win over Limerick in the Munster Ladies Football Championship on Sunday last.
