Moycarkey Borris Camogie and Ladies Football Club Notes - April 7th 2015

Under 14 Camogie

The Moycarkey-Borris Under 14 Camogie team started their Tipperary Camogie Championship with an away game against hosts Moyle Rovers on Wednesday, April 1st. Although the game was played in wintery conditions Moycarkey Borris played well but their hosts were the better team on the day. Moycarkey Borris will now look forward to their next game in the Championship against New Inn in Littleton on Wednesday, April 8th. Moycarkey-Borris team: Leah Walsh, Roisin Donnelly, Aoife Dunphy, Zoe O’Meara, Aoife Walsh, Zoe McKenna, Aoife Ryan, Michaella McKelvey, Lauryn O’Sullivan and Emma Dowling.

Under 12 Camogie

On Saturday last Moycarkey Under 12 Camogie team played in a blitz hosted by Holycross. Five clubs took part giving each club four games. The girls were narrowly defeated by Holycross and Boherlahan and learned from these games. In the other two games they went on to take victory from St. Mary’s and Gortnahoe. Well done girls! Moycarkey-Borris team: Chloe Cummins, Queva O’Meara, Ciara Coffey, Sophie Long, Kate Fitzgibbon, Laura Costigan, Emma O’Sullivan, Grainne Stapleton, Rebecca Hogan, Sarah Sheridan, Michelle Flanagan and Amy Callanan.

Under 16 Ladies Football

On Monday last (April 6th) Moycarkey Borris Under 16 travelled to Ballycahill to play their second round game in the Tipperary Championship. These two teams are usually very close but this year it was different, Holycross were the stronger team and dominant the game throughout to take victory. Moycarkey-Borris team: Megan Woodlock; Lorna Ryan, Nicola Scott, Caitlin Donnelly; Claire Ryan, Rachael Dowling, Amy McGovern; Gemma Ryan, Saoirse O'Meara; Catherine O’Meara, Emma Shelly, Cait Darmody; Niamh Woodlock, Maria Lanigan, Jessica Hayes. Subs: Amy Cummins, Rachel Delaney, Emma Dowling, Doireanne Kelly and Michaella McKelvey

Under 12 Ladies Football

On Wednesday evening April 1st Moycarkey Under 12 Ladies Football team defeated Thurles Sarsfields in a challenge game in Littleton before the start of the Community Games and the Championship. The girls played very well and showed promise for the season ahead. Moycarkey team: Queva O’Meara, Kate Fitzgibbon, Chloe Cummins, Ciara Coffey, Enya Maher, Joan O’Keeffe, Laura Costigan, Sophie Long, Eve Dardis, Michelle Flanagan, Emma O’Sullivan, Sarah Sheridan, Grainne Stapleton, Amy Callanan, Clodagh Dunphy and Caoimhe O’Sullivan.

Training

Under 12 – Wednesday evening training resumes this Wednesday April 8th 6.30 to 7.30pm. New Players always welcome.

Under 8’s and Under 10’s – Training will resume on Saturday, April 11th at 12 noon. New members are welcome.

Training will continue for all other teams with texts going to parents to notify them of the relevant times.
