On Saturday evening last Moycarkey Borris competed against JK Brackens in the Thurles Wholesale Cash and Carry Mid Tipperary Junior B Hurling Championship in Littleton. The scoring opened straight away with points for either side. But Moycarkey kept the accumulating the scores with points from JJ Darmody, John Kelly (2) and Paudie Doran before JK Brackens added another at the end of the first quarter. When the teams returned to the field after half time Moycarkey had made a substitution; Ciaran Maher was introduced for Robert Clancy and they reaped the reward of this in the first three minutes when Maher successfully netted the ball twice. The sides traded points in the thirty sixth minute and Brackens successfully got another point in the fortieth just before Ciaran Maher raised the green flag for his hat trick. Moycarkey had a thirteen point margin as it entered the final fifteen minutes of the game. However, they kept the pressure on and John Kelly scored a further three points with two other points from Kevin O’Regan and Paudie Doran to Brackens two points.
