Roskeen Construction Mid Tipperary Junior A Hurling Championship Final

Played on very wet Saturday evening in Drombane, the Mid Junior A Hurling Championship Final saw Holycross Ballycahill defeat Moycarkey Borris on a score line of Holycross Ballycahill 2-20 Moycarkey Borris 0-11.

Holycross went straight to the score board from the throw in with a point by Robbie Stakelum. Moycarkey’s Gerry McGuire quickly replied with a point but Holycross went on from here with six unanswered points in the next fifteen minutes. On the seventeenth minute Ailbe Power put Moycarkey back on the scoreboard with a point. Moycarkey pushed on and traded the next three points before Holycross added two. A further point from each side left the teams going in at half time Holycross Ballycahill 0-13 Moycarkey Borris 0-6.

Moycarkey opened the second half with two pointed frees which Holycross immediately equalised. For the next five minutes Moycarkey dominated with three points from Ailbe Power, Brian Moran and Anthony Healy. Holycross added two more points before John Paul Butler raised the green flag for them. The final quarter saw Moycarkey remain scoreless while Holycross added an unanswered further three points and a goal. Holycross Ballycahill 2-20 Moycarkey Borris 0-11.
